The White Horse of Easebourne
Pubs and Bars with Restaurants
With many pubs transforming themselves into modish restaurants these days, it is comforting to find somewhere that serves really great food but is proud to remain, first and foremost, a pub. With its idyllic countryside location, The White Horse of Easebourne is the perfect spot for walkers – offering a well-kept garden full of comfortable, deep-cushioned furniture for sunny days and festoon lighting to continue summer drinking into the dusk hours, as well as a warming log burner for winter. The menu is a welcome list of favourites, all locally sourced, including starters of potted chicken and main-course options such as barbecued pork belly ribs and macaroni cheese. The desserts continue the classic theme, with a perfect sticky toffee pudding served with honeycomb ice cream.
Steaks arrive ‘on the stone’, whereby a sizzling hot stone is brought to the table, enabling you to cook your steak exactly to your liking. They come accompanied by a trio of sauces chosen from a vast selection, including tasty barbecue and garlic butter, and a choice of chips. Be sure to enjoy one of The White Horse’s Cask Marque-accredited real ales alongside your food.
With free boules tournaments held every Sunday and a pub quiz on the first Tuesday of every month, complete with a half-time curry (October to May), it’s easy to see why regulars enthuse about this lovely foodie pub.
