In 1997, an Oriental floating restaurant was opened in Brighton Marina. The vision of the Brighton Pagoda was straight out of ancient China; the authentic Chinese design, the calm ambience and attentive service providing a totally unique dining experience. A fine art gallery displaying beautiful Chinese paintings was added to the lower deck of the restaurant in 2002, and today the restaurant has become a much-loved feature of the Marina landscape, offering diners quality, yet affordable, Chinese cuisine in a family-friendly atmosphere in gorgeous surroundings.

The Pagoda prides itself on using only the finest and freshest ingredients to create dishes that are distinctive and satisfying. Like any Chinese restaurant worth its salt, the menu is extensive and abundant in its flavours, but it is the quality of the food from this menu that will astound you, with dishes combining a variety of all-time favourites with some new and innovative recipes. With 24 appetisers and ten soups, you may be too spoilt for choice and find it easier to pick a set menu - the special recommended menu alone is worth the visit. Here, find a plethora of appetisers; satay chicken, deep-fried Dover sole on toast, crispy seaweed, King Do ribs and crunchy spring rolls make way for a soothing bowl of miso soup. This precedes classic crispy aromatic duck - shredded at the table and served with the usual sundries - and there's still more. Steaming portions of Kung Po spicy chicken, fried king prawns with mange tout, beef and green peppers, and bowls of fluffy mixed vegetable and seafood fried rice, will ensure everyone leaves at the end of the night with full bellies and happy faces.

With a total of 100 seats; 55 on the top deck with beautiful views of the moored yachts, and 45 in the mystical atmosphere of the lower deck, there is plenty of space, but the Pagoda can still get busy, so it's best to book if there's a large party of you. They offer a personal service to help and advise with all your catering requirements, which will ensure any party is ship shape.
