Saint George’s Inn
Saint George’s Inn is all about letting your hair down and having fun; the cheery team are easy-going, and events such as quizzes and Sunday almanac afternoons encourage guests to kick back and relax. The team takes the food and drink seriously though, and offers a variety of whiskey, local ale, guest beer and lip-smacking homemade food. Starters include barbecue smoky ribs, halloumi fries, and roasted pumpkin with goat’s cheese, yogurt dip and fresh salad. Mains may feature the likes of the smoked haddock, pollock and lemon burger with seaweed salt chips, and Saint George’s herby meatloaf with mashed potato and gravy. Gather friends and family and succumb to the delicious roasts served on Sundays – there’s a vegetarian and vegan option.
Soft lighting, chandeliers and memorabilia all add to the truly cosy atmosphere, which is enhanced by an eclectic soundtrack, making drinking and dining here all too easy to enjoy.
One half of the bar can be closed off for private parties, accommodating up to 40 people seated or 50 standing. So, whether you’re sat in the glorious south-facing garden, at a candlelit table or perched at the bar, time at Saint George’s Inn is time well spent.
