The Foodilic restaurant group has made a name for itself as a purveyor of fresh, healthy food. The four branches in Brighton and London offer delights like salads, homemade pastries and raw desserts. Specialising in offering tempting healthy options for everybody, Foodilic also offers a wealth of gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options. We visited the Western Road branch during a bustling Saturday lunchtime and thoroughly enjoyed the buzzy atmosphere. If you fancy a hearty lunch, there’s an all-you-can eat buffet, and if you’re pressed for time you can opt for a takeaway box? Tempting choices include spinach, button mushrooms, goji berries and basil pesto, new potatoes with molten Brie, and even the Superfoodilic with broccoli, cracked wheat and physalis.

My guest opted to start with a warming bowl of flavoursome tomato soup. We then moved on to hearty mains, which we paired with refreshing glasses of freshly squeezed orange juice. I selected the beef goulash and found the meat juicy, and the rich tomato sauce perfectly balanced with just a hint of spice. My companion opted for a satisfying helping of classic beef lasagne. We finished with a delectably creamy banoffee pie, which was a real treat for the sweet-tooth. With such friendly staff, great food and an attractive setting, it’s no wonder Foodilic is so popular.
