The Carnarvon Arms Hotel boasts an enviable location within the grounds of Highclere Castle, better known to many as Downton Abbey. The stunning setting of the Grade II listed former coach house is matched by the high quality of the food and overall dining experience.

Marco Pierre White and Andrew Bennett set up their venture at The Carnarvon Arms primarily because they believe that casual dining is the future of eating out in the UK. After earning three Michelin stars, Marco was ready to back a relaxed approach to dining, and certainly delivers this with aplomb at The Carnarvon Arms.

The aim at The Carnarvon Arms is to serve the quality of food you'd expect from a fine-dining establishment at an affordable price. The menu offers hearty favourites such as roast venison (always sourced locally) and the ever-popular fried haddock and triple-cooked chips. The focus is always on offering down-to-earth dishes of the highest standard, such as the delectable Box Tree Eton Mess, although the occasional fine flourish is added to create refined versions of favourite dishes - for example, a splash of white truffle oil livens up the classic cream of cauliflower soup. A selection of cask ales and over 40 excellent wines is available too, as well as malt whiskies and after-dinner tipples.

The restaurant is adorned with an eclectic collection of artwork and artefacts, with many of the items coming directly from Marco Pierre White's personal collection. The Carnarvon Arms has 23 wonderful en-suite bedrooms, which have all been decorated with a discerning eye.
