Café Sage is award-winning head chef Rob Bryson's first solo venture and certainly reaps the benefits of his extensive experience in fine dining. With its relaxed, bistro-style environment and superb menu, this dining experience comes highly recommended.

Changing according to the seasons, and showcasing the best of local produce where possible, the bill of fare is pleasingly varied. Expect classics such as steak and roast lamb and more unusual selections such as Italian-inspired veal dish, ossobuco, and massaman curry.

We devoured crispy belly pork and divine melt-in-the-mouth monkfish wrapped in Parma ham, and delighted in the mango pannacotta with passion fruit sorbet - a chef speciality. Led by head waiter Nigel, staff have a good knowledge of the menu and will happily recommend dishes to suit your tastes, or wines to complement your food. As well as the à la carte, there are good-value set menus available throughout the week, plus lunchtime and breakfast menus and a special selection for children. You can also catch some live music every Friday night. Café Sage is an excellent choice for a meal to remember, whenever you choose to visit.
