Pubs and Bars with Restaurants
Standing in the centre of Stockport is Robinsons Brewery; the beating heart of a brewing dynasty that was conceived in 1838 by William Robinson. Fast-forward six generations and almost 180 years and the brewery is still standing and going strong.
Open seven days a week, the Robinsons Brewery visitors centre is the perfect place for business, conferences or just catching up over a pint of Robinsons’ award-winning cask ales. Favourites include Unicorn, Dizzy Blonde, Wizard and the world-famous TROOPER, which is brewed in conjunction with rock legends Iron Maiden. In addition, you’ll find draught beers, seasonally changing selections and speciality keg ales, as well as a few bottled brews.
Robinsons and their award-winning visitors centre is conveniently located just off the M60 and A6. A visit here gives the whole family the chance to take a tour around a working brewery and get a taste of what goes into making the nation’s favourite drink, while submerging guests in the history of the site’s multi-million-pound setting.
Visitors centre guides educate and entertain you on your journey around Robinsons’ fascinating Unicorn Brewery. The tour takes about one hour and includes three third-pint samples. Real ale aficionados can also buy a ‘golden ticket’, which not only includes the tour, but also your choice from one of four gift sets, plus two pints (or six third-pints) at the Unicorn Bar.
Robinsons is all about creating great eating and drinking experiences. The Unicorn Bar serves a menu of stellar dishes prepared using locally sourced ingredients, which take into account vegetarian appetites. Think delicious home-baked pies, burgers and the visitors centre’s signature TROOPER beer-battered fish and chips.
Whether you fancy a bite to eat or a quiet drink with friends, take a trip to the Robinsons Brewery visitors centre to see what’s brewing. For more information, visit their website or like Robinsons on Facebook.
