The Pheasant is well-known for its outstanding selection of food and drink, and hungry diners flock to sample the quality, unpretentious fare on offer there. The Pheasant is best described as a traditional pub with a modern feel - the atmosphere is reminiscent of a village local, and the decor is contemporary with a rustic feel.

This blend of the modern and the traditional is reflected in the menu, which lists classic dishes with an up-to-date twist. Only top-quality fresh produce is used and menus change with the seasons to reflect the ingredients available. Expect starters such as succulent seared Black Pearl scallops with pea purée, prosciutto and a sunblaze tomato dressing, plus some great sharing platters, which are perfect for enjoying with a friend. Mains are just as tempting, and include dishes such as Welsh lamb shoulder, slow roasted for four hours, with roasted Mediterranean vegetables and truffle mash, and hearty classics such as beer-battered haddock with homecut chunky chips, mushy peas, tartare sauce and spicy ketchup.

As you'd expect from a quality pub like The Pheasant, there are also plenty of perfectly matched wines, cask ales and Continental lagers to enjoy with your meal. Make sure you drop by for Cattle and Cork, pairing the chef's special grills with some delicious wines, or to sample The Pheasant's famous Sunday roast platters, which are definitely not to be missed.
