With views over the water, The River Bar & Grill on the first floor of Manchester's five-star Lowry Hotel is a light-filled oasis on the River Irwell. Executive head chef Andrew Green has created a contemporary menu and offers a fresh and unpretentious approach to British cuisine. Andrew has sourced the best suppliers both locally and nationally, ensuring his new menu includes culinary treats like beef sourced from the Chatsworth Estate and black pudding from Mettrick's Butchers in Glossop. The scallops are hand-dived, the sea bass caught in Anglesey and the salmon is cured with gin within the kitchen itself. As well as utilising the best produce available, the quality of the food is guaranteed to be top-notch thanks to the new Josper grill, the hottest indoor grill available. Natural flavours are sealed into the food, making dishes like the Chatsworth rib-eye steak even more delectable. The head pastry chef, Brett Pistorious, has created a dessert menu that matches the high standard of the main menu. After a meal of roasted saddle of rabbit or vanilla-roasted John Dory, indulge in the ever-popular Piña Colada arctic roll, or try to deduce the secret ingredient in Pistorious' tarte tatin recipe. A meal at The River Bar & Grill is a treat to savour from start to finish
