Ristoranti Gio e Giorgio
Gio and Giorgio authentic Italian restaurants are situated in the city centre, minutes away from The Bridgewater Hall, Palace Theatre and Manchester Central, as well as many well-known hotels such as The Midland, Premier Inn, Portland Thistle and many others. They offer an extensive à la carte menu along with set two and three-course pre-theatre menus at excellent value, with friendly service and ambience to match. I imagine that both of these restaurants are always as full as the contented stomachs of their satisfied guests. At Giorgio's, we opted for bruschetta and a tasty mozzarella and avocado salad - both lovingly prepared and presented. Next, we enjoyed the more adventurous dishes of chicken in creamy white wine and Béchamel sauce, and a special of grilled yellow-fin tuna steak, which was fresh that morning from the local fish market. It's clear that the chefs here use only top-quality ingredients in their long-established, perfected Italian recipes. Desserts range from tiramisu to lemon-mousse cake. To finish, why not swap the usual coffee for one of the many liqueurs on offer. We'd recommend brandy served in a warm crystal glass; it was perfect on a cold winter's night, but made it even harder for us to bring ourselves to leave.
