Warrington Road, High Legh, Nr. Knutsford, WA16 0RT
Located on the A50 Warrington Road, the Bears Paw welcomes everyone. Owners Jason and Melanie take great pride in their 17th-Century converted farmhouse, placing great emphasis on honest, home-cooked food, sourced from a daily delivery of fresh produce ranging from bread, meat and fish - not to mention the locally made ice cream. The Early Bird Menu is available Monday to Friday, 6pm until 7pm. The comprehensive à la carte menu boasts a range of meals ranging from traditional classics such as fresh cod fried in homemade batter and the lamb rump steak with rosemary and redcurrant sauce, to the slightly more exotic sea bass marinated in coriander and lime - all equally appetising. There is also a chalkboard specials menu, which features a wide variety of ever-changing but delectable meals, and a section of the menu is dedicated to homemade desserts - the Ticky Tacky Pudding is divine. Spending a lazy afternoon at the Bears Paw is an absolute treat. The Sunday roast is modestly priced, with a delicious choice of either roast sirloin beef or roast Cheshire turkey. A set menu offers two courses for £9.95 and three for £12.95. Together with a traditional log fire, there's no better way to enjoy a bite to eat and a few drinks, especially in such a warm and welcoming environment. If you haven't already visited this gem of a pub, it is well worth doing so
