Pubs and Bars with Restaurants
Nice Restaurant is one of those rare places with a menu that delivers both great variety and great quality. If you're in Prestbury and looking for a morning snack, look no further; whether you feel like fresh croissants and a sharp double espresso, warm crumpets and a fruit tea, or a full English breakfast (served every day from 11am until 2pm) Nice is just the place. Served between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Friday, the lunch menu offers a choice of freshly made sandwiches, jacket potatoes and scrumptious salads such as warm bacon, chicken and avocado - reasonably priced at £5.50 - and wholesome pasta dishes like goat's cheese, cherry tomatoes and spinach tagliatelle. Nice's 'special high tea', which includes a sandwich, a home-baked cake, a scone and a glass of prosecco, is a treat you won't forget. As for the evening menu (served everyday from 5pm), expect everything from Moroccan spiced chicken skewers with juicy roasted pepper salad and lime dressing, and Thai green chicken curry with basmati rice and pitta bread, to fish risotto with salmon, hake, baby prawns, spinach and lemon, and pan-fried liver with colcannon mash served with Parma ham and red wine jus. No matter what you order, the thoughtful presentation of each dish shows the pride the team at Nice take in the food they serve, and a comprehensive and informative wine list showcases excellent Old World and New World wines to accompany your meal. But the experience isn't over yet - there's still the dessert menu. Those with a taste for chocolate can indulge in the Belgian chocolate torte with ice cream and hot chocolate sauce, or the Baileys and chocolate chip bread and butter pudding with creme anglaise. Or, if you feel like something fruity, there's the summer fruits cheesecake with raspberry coulis. After food this good, all that remains to do is sit back, take in the neat and tasteful interior, sip an Italian coffee (amaretto di saronno, coffee, sugar and cream) or a cocktail of your choice and plan your next visit.
