The Yard brings a taste of modern Italy to the streets of Chester. Situated just down the road from the train station and 500 yards from Chester Park, this eclectic venue attracts couples, young professionals and families. The decor is quirky, sophisticated and vibrant, with comfy blue sofas lining the walls and yellow chairs inviting you to join the fun. The laid-back atmosphere is greatly increased by the addition of mellow house music. Coupled with the friendly staff, this creates an environment where visitors can escape from the pressures of the outside world and really feel at home.

The food is modern and experimental – a combination of exciting new flavours and satisfyingly rich Italian cuisine. The sanguinaccio, Italian black pudding topped with crispy egg and tomato chutney, is a particular favourite with regulars. We recommend following this with tagliatelle with tiger prawns and jalapeño pesto; The Yard makes their own pasta, and it’s a real delight. The fruit tarts are also freshly made by the chef and are well worth sampling. With a new à la carte menu every three months, and the fixed-price menu changing every week, there’s always something new to discover. For those who fancy an aperitif, The Yard’s cocktail lounge has a delightful air of VIP comfort, and can also be rented for private parties.
