The Buddha Lounge
Chinese and East Asian
As soon as you enter The Thai Lounge, you are immediately struck by the contemporary yet classic surroundings. Solid wood tables and high-backed cream leather chairs give the restaurant an air of sophistication. Buddhas, brought back by the owner from Thailand, adorn the walls and transport you to another world in preparation for the culinary delights you are about to enjoy. Whet your appetite with the poe pia tord - these wonderful fresh spring rolls, stuffed with vegetables and vermicelli and served with a tasty sweet chilli sauce, are a delicate and delicious precursor to the main courses. Go on to try one of the delicious soups - there are so many on offer you will be spoilt for choice. For the main event choose one of the favourites on the menu, mas sa man - a spicy red curry served with the meat of your choice - or go for one of the sizzlers like Tiger Cry, a grilled beef dish with a delicious marinade. Alternatively, the exciting à la carte fish menu features sea bass and red snapper dishes. A marvellous selection of wines and Thai beers are available to complement your meal, and the restaurant also offers excellent set menus, ranging in price from £19.80 to £34.90 per person. The Thai Lounge prides itself on its outstanding service, and you will not be disappointed with the friendly, helpful staff on hand to cater to your every need. But it doesn't end there - the creators of The Thai Lounge and impressive China Lounge are currently working on a new fine dining project, due to open in September 2008. The Buddha Lounge will fuse Thai and Cantonese cuisine, bringing mouth-watering tastes and outrageous design together. With award-winning chefs from Thailand and China, an open kitchen that can be viewed on plasma screens, and stunning design work throughout, this is sure to be a massive success.
