2013 heralds the birth of new, fully licensed café-restaurant, 65 Degrees at Windsor Grill. Located within easy reach of central Windsor and a few minutes' walk from the castle, on a charming thoroughfare, 65 Degrees takes the best bits from Windsor Grill and Windsor Larder and puts them under one roof. Owned by the prestigious chef Antony Worrall Thompson, the service and menu reflect the quality you would expect, and the ingredients are traceable, seasonal and as locally sourced as possible. Breakfast sees freshly brewed tea and coffee, pastries and hot breakfast items, while lunch sees handmade pies, soups and the famous pork rolls. Reception from the staff was immediately welcoming and we enjoyed fast and attentive service. The dinner menu focuses on classic, perfectly cooked Aberdeenshire steaks and luscious burgers with a huge choice of sides, butters, toppings and sauces. We began our meal with a bowl of olives before diving into some substantial starters. Chilli salt squid was delicious, and from the 'things on toast' selection, grilled marrow bone was particularly mouthwatering. The portion sizes are ideal, so after thoroughly savouring our starters we were still able to relish slow-cooked pork belly with crackling. You'll find the wine list to be extensive and well-designed, and the puddings simply delectable. The Windsor Grill also offers a separate upstairs room that can be privately hired or, if you're going all out, the entire venue can be hired for parties of up to 55 seated guests, or 100 standing
