The Falcon is a little oasis nestling in the picturesque Tyne Valley. With views of verdant pastures and flourishing trees, where better to unwind than at this welcoming inn? The cavernous interior encompasses a popular local bar and separate dining area, tastefully decorated in cappuccino shades - a relaxed, friendly setting in which to enjoy quality food and drink.

The Falcon's tempting menu showcases pub food at its best. It is satisfying to see classics on the menu such as fish and chips, bangers and mash, homemade steak and mushroom pie and chicken Kiev, as well delicacies including trio of pork medallions and pan-roasted duck breast. The fabulously diverse menu selection also extends to a selection of pizzas, a special children's menu and one for senior citizens.

Whilst enjoying extremely well-kept Abbot Ale, my dining companion and I pursued the extensive menu and decided on classic prawn cocktail and king prawns. When our dishes arrived, we were bowled over by the generous portion sizes and wowed by the freshness and quality. We relished our mains of whole-tail scampi and duck breast, both served with the best chips I have ever tasted. This satisfying meal was made all the more special thanks to wonderfully friendly staff, who made our visit hugely enjoyable - hats off to The Falcon.
