This award-winning country pub enjoys spectacular views of the Northumberland countryside. In the distance you’ll see the River Tyne snaking towards the village of Corbridge, steeped in Ancient Roman history.

Since taking over the pub in 2007, Karen and Phil have earned an excellent reputation for their high-quality, locally sourced food. Championing local suppliers, the team sources as much as possible from the surrounding countryside, with daily menus that reflect this ethos. Expect delights such as smoked mackerel, soft egg and radish on sourdough toast, peppered local steak with roasted tomato, watercress and chips, and slow-cooked belly pork with smoked bacon, Puy lentils and beetroot. A fixed-price menu is also available at lunchtimes. To accompany your meal, a range of fine international wine has been carefully selected to be paired with the dishes on offer. The friendly staff are always on-hand to assist you with your choices and accommodate allergies and intolerances.

After your meal, settle down by the fire in the cosy bar and enjoy a real ale or a cocktail. If the weather’s clement, why not while away an afternoon in the stunning beer garden and take in the views?
