Lane7 is the North East's first and only boutique bowling alley. Ten bowling lanes are spread over three floors of this edgy and contemporary warehouse-style venue on St James' Boulevard in central Newcastle. Even the bowling balls have a cool vibe, styled in the manner of giant pool balls. There are also ping pong tables, four American-sized pool tables, a private karaoke booth, three bars and an acclaimed restaurant alongside an array of limited-time-only activities - think mini golf and pingtron, as well as big screens. The inventive and relaxed bar menu features a range of premium draught beers as well as supporting a range of creative local, independent brewers. The cocktail list even extends to an eye-catching 'hardshake' menu - alcoholic milkshakes. The restaurant menu has been given a contemporary twist with stunning and flavoursome takes on American barbecue favourites. Lane7's bucket of loose ends and trimmings, a vast selection of assorted barbecued meats accompanied by sauces, fries and slaws, is already earning its place in North East dining folklore. As well as being the perfect grown-up, cocktail-fuelled playground, the venue is also suitable for children's parties and private functions, corporate events, awards ceremonies and weddings
