The extensive menu offers the usual mezze and grilled meats but there are some signature dishes to watch out for, such as their namesake dishes mandi chicken and mandi lamb. Mandi is a traditional Yemeni dish where the meat and rice are smoked over charcoal, imparting an incredible depth of flavour. Determined to try something new, my partner and I began by sampling a lovely yoghurt and aubergine dip called aubergine belabn as well as opting for the more familiar hummus Beiruty, which was beautifully presented and incredibly tasty. Accompanied by smoky mandi rice, we enjoyed a tender charcoal-grilled poussin, succulent king prawns and delicious grilled sea bass with tahini sauce.
As is customary of Lebanese cuisine, portions here are very generous and many dishes are designed for sharing, so gather your family and friends and enjoy an authentic Middle Eastern feast.
