The newly developed Seaham Harbour Marina is home to the appropriately named Lookout, a coffee shop with a spectacular view. Offering stunning vistas of the East Durham coastline as far as the eye can see, it’s the perfect place to take some time out, sip a quality cup of coffee and enjoy delicious, homemade café cuisine.

Sporting a modern twist on the nautical theme, the interior is light, bright and contemporary. A counter housing a range of homemade snacks, cakes and scones is in full view, tempting you to stay just a little longer. Treats such as hot carvery rolls are available when the weather is chilly, and you’ll always find filled breakfast rolls, baguettes and panini to fill you up. Your accompanying beverage will be created by a trained barista, so you know every cappuccino and Americano will be tailored to your own specific needs and will be wonderfully aromatic. The Lookout is popular with dog-walkers, as dogs are welcome in the outside seating area – dog bowls are even provided. If you visit on a Sunday, you might be lucky enough to happen upon Sea Shanty Sunday, The Lookout’s live music event that takes place on the first Sunday of every month. To keep up to date with the latest goings on, visit their Facebook page or follow @_the_lookout on Twitter.
