Entering this charming little Thai restaurant is like being transported straight to South East Asia. We were shown to our table past Buddhas, paintings and handmade furniture all brought over from Thailand, and the restaurant's friendly atmosphere set the mood for the culinary delights to come. Whet your appetite with the fabulous gradook moo tod - deep-fried pork spare ribs in garlic and pepper with a traditional Thai sauce. For your main course, perhaps opt for one of the chef's specials, such as the delicious pla neung ma noon (sea bass with a lemon and chilli sauce). East meets West on the dessert menu, with dishes such as profiteroles sitting alongside Thai delights like crispy, golden pineapple fritters served with an assortment of syrups. The restaurant also offers excellent set menus from £16.50 per person and an early evening menu from Monday to Thursday (available between 5pm and 7pm), which is outstanding value at just £12.95 for three courses. If you are looking for the perfect place to hold your next gathering, whether it be a birthday party or corporate event, Nam Ploy has fantastic dining spaces available, varying in capacity from 15 to 100 people. Once a month they host a 'Siam Nights' event where you can indulge in a Thai buffet and dance, or karaoke the night away.
