Open to residents and non-residents alike, the small, sophisticated Bistro boasts refined decor, complete with sleek banquette seating and tables draped with crisp white napery - a wonderful backdrop for the beautiful Continental cuisine and Asian specialities that adorn the menu created by executive chef David Tilly. Locally sourced, seasonal ingredients are very much in favour here - meat is supplied by Allens of Mayfair, one of London's most reputed butchers, and the provenance of seasonal fish, crustaceans, poultry and vegetables is also carefully considered. David's exquisite dishes are all simply but meticulously presented and the flavours are full and fresh. Begin your feast with Dorset crabcakes with celeriac remoulade, citron oil and pea shoots or tantalising salmon and cucumber tartare with yuzu dressing. To follow, you might like to try one of the mouth-watering signature dishes - perhaps salmon fillet with basil purée, smooth and creamy mash, sundried tomato and lemon butter sauce or tender Coxon's Ale-Gar-glazed duck breast with meaty duck sausage, crushed sweet potato, cavolo nero and rich cherry sauce. If you're hoping to sample some fine Asian fare, you're in luck - opt for the delectable stone bass with masala crust, coriander potatoes and kachumber-style pineapple salad. What's more, the classic grills selection features a host of top-quality fish and meat, ranging from succulent salmon to juicy rib-eye. Why not plump for a delicious pink peppercorn sauce and some honey-glazed Chantenay carrots on the side?
