Pubs and Bars with Restaurants
On hand to seat you and recommend dishes are some of the friendliest staff I have come across in a long time. Happy to offer up their opinions and explain menu combinations, their genuine and welcoming disposition propels Sri Nam from a lovely Thai restaurant to an exquisite Thai dining experience.
There was really no question about what we were going to start with - it had to be the Royal Thai Platter, not only so as to sample as much as possible, but because the variety of flavours involved simply leapt off the menu, making my mouth water in anticipation. I was not disappointed; the prawn toast contained sumptuous and juicy prawns and the delicious golden morsels were seasoned to perfection with a satisfying crunch. Happily, I worked my way through tender and creamy chicken satay, beautifully cooked scallops, crispy dim sum and seaweed with a really flavoursome kick - and that was just to start.
Moving on with our decadent feast I ordered the hoi hoong jaan ron (sizzling scallops and prawns with mixed vegetables) and my companion a pla cod neaung (steamed fillet of black cod with green pesto and Thai holy basil). Everything about our main courses was as magnificent as the starters: the cod succulent and the accompanying sauce to my scallops enticing and mellow, perfectly complementing the meatiness of the fish. We also opted for a phad ceeyah koong - a burst of citrus combined with crunchy textures and noodles, it was the perfect side dish. If you have room left after all that wonderful food, then Sri Nam offers some satisfying desserts such as lemon tart with raspberry compote or banana fritters.
Whatever you order at Sri Nam you can be guaranteed only the finest, freshly prepared food and an evening of fabulous flavours.
