Two brothers with discerning taste, a love of good food, and a strong belief in value for money created the Greedy Cow. Their mission was to source the freshest local produce and use it to create innovative and exciting dishes that keep hunger at bay without emptying the wallet.

Seven years ago, this vision was realised when Greedy Cow opened in the heart of the East End. As a small, bespoke venue, it offers a high-quality, thoughtful service, and the original values are upheld today. The hands-on owners gather feedback directly from their customers and are constantly tailoring the restaurant’s dining experience to suit – it’s no wonder people come back time and time again.

Greedy Cow prides itself on sourcing the best produce possible, including sustainably farmed beef from The Ginger Pig farm in North Yorkshire, where the cattle eat a natural diet of grass and hay. The chefs develop and create all dishes on-site, then offer them up to the staff and owners to taste before they are featured on the menu. This way, customers can be confident that whatever they order, the dish has been created with love and attention.

The chefs still prepare all the original classics such as the classic burger, cooked medium and served in a soft sourdough bun with beef tomato and sliced red onions, and the sirloin steak, aged for 21 days to ensure a tender, flavoursome result – while more exotic meats keep the menu fresh and exciting. Camel, kangaroo and wild boar are all in attendance and offer customers the chance to be adventurous and try something completely different. If you’ve room left after the generous portions, try the signature chocolate fondant. The drinks list is just as exciting as the food menu, with a range of cocktails, wine and Prosecco available.

Greedy Cow also opens for breakfast at weekends, offering the likes of eggs Benedict and buttermilk pancakes served with apple, pear and cinnamon or mixed berry compote. Check out Greedy Cow’s Twitter, Instagram and Facebook page for more news and updates.
