13 Sale Place, Paddington, West-London, W2 1PX
From the moment you step into this intimate venue, nestled along a tree-lined avenue between Edgware Road and Paddington, you will be made to feel like one of the Satay House family. The friendly staff are clearly eager to ensure you have an enjoyable dining experience and will enthusiastically explain their favourite dishes.

We enjoyed a selection of nibbles while perusing the menu - crispy prawn crackers, spicy peanuts and whitebait, offset by the zingy white wine recommended by our waiter. Our starter was a selection of marinated and chargrilled chicken and lamb skewers, served with sweet peanut sauce. For mains, we sampled king prawns stir-fried with hot red chillies, grilled chicken in coconut milk and spices, stir-fried choi sum in oyster sauce and traditional homemade bread. The most memorable dish was the kari kambing - an aromatic Malaysian lamb curry. The meat was tender and the sauce was dense, expelling a myriad of flavours just spicy enough to leave the palate pleasantly tingling.

Malaysian cooking has its traditional methods but is also renowned for having Chinese and Indian influences, and Satay House reflects this in the extensive range of dishes on its menu. The secret to enjoying a meal here is to share it, hidangan-style, as Malaysians do. If you are here with a group of friends, order a selection of dishes and experience the variety of taste sensations Malaysia has to offer.
