Indian and South Asian
If you want to enjoy competitively priced, exemplary cuisine, head to Indian City. The smart, modern interior is a serene refuge from the hubbub of the street outside, and the authentic cuisine is enough to make you feel as though you’ve been transported all the way to India.
On our visit, we began with the tandoori platter, on the helpful waiter’s recommendation. We devoured it with gusto, impressed by the rich and tender lamb tikka and fragrantly spiced tandoori king prawn. The main menu is varied, and includes wonderful chef’s specials like my king prawn badshabag, which boasted a marvellous balance of heat from the green chilli and curry leaf and sweetness from cherry tomatoes. My partner chose the timeless classic bhuna chicken, slow cooked and in a delicious creamy sauce, which she mopped up with a piece of warm naan. Although we were more than satisfied, we caved when presented with the dessert menu and opted to share the chocolate fondant paired with coconut ice cream – I’m glad we did.
Alongside the food offerings, Indian City also has a wide choice of premium spirits and a selection of wine available by the glass.
The impressive food was made even more wonderful thanks to the attentive staff, and we’ll certainly be returning soon.
