Loch Fyne - Twickenham
Loch Fyne in Twickenham underwent an impressive refurbishment in October 2014, giving this classic seafood restaurant a fresh, new look. The decor and furniture, all muted colours and soft wood, cultivates a warm and inviting atmosphere that is enhanced by the friendly staff.
As a lover of seafood, I was excited to cast my eyes over the new varied à la carte menu. To start, I kicked off with delicate and succulent tequila and lime oysters, while my partner chose pan-fried chilli and garlic king prawns with granary bread. The bar had been set high by the starters, but our main courses more than met the challenge. I couldn’t resist the Loch Fyne langoustines with garlic butter, burnt lime mayonnaise and French fries. My partner went all out with the seafood grill, a mighty dish comprising Scottish salmon, whole king prawns, Scottish rope-grown mussels, scallops and gilt-head bream. Loch Fyne takes a lot of care to source the best possible seafood, and it certainly shows.
We’ve got our eye on the ever-changing lunchtime set menu for our next visit as it offers remarkable value for money.
