The Railway Tavern
A prominent pub with heaps of charm and character, The Railway Tavern in Crouch End is a gem of a find. Restored to its former 1930s glory, classic artwork, dark wood and a large fireplace create an inviting environment in which to relish terrific food and drink. A lovely beer garden at the back affords plenty of sunshine in warm weather.
The menu is divided into burgers, delicious hotdogs, sandwiches and salads. Why not commence with sticky barbecue wings paired with blue cheese sauce, or whitebait served with lemon and fresh tartare sauce?
Homemade treats such as bubble and squeak baked potato and veg served with a fried egg, and homemade beefburger topped with smoked bacon, Cheddar, onion rings and mixed leaves occupy the list of main dishes. Tried-and-tested favourites such as Timothy Taylor-battered cod and a delicious selection of salads also grace the menu. For those with slightly less hearty appetites, the soft-shell crab, lime and chilli mayo sandwich, and the classic Caesar salad are lighter options. Roast dinner aficionados will delight in the traditional Sunday lunch.
The Railway Tavern is available for private hire and the team can pull out all the stops, whether you want a laid-back get-together or a full-on shindig.
