The Plough Inn
The Plough Inn never fails to deliver on high-quality food and warm, friendly service. With a relaxed, family-friendly ambience and a wide selection of drinks, including Fuller’s beer and ale, there are so many strings to this charming pub’s bow. A weekend brunch menu boasts all of your favourite eggs and full English breakfasts for the perfect start to the day. Lunch and dinner can be as light or indulgent as you like. While portions here are generous, the social plates such as chorizo in red wine with sourdough are perfect for sharing and for those who like to graze. If you’re committed to three courses you might start with heritage tomato, Laverstoke mozzarella, black olives, orzo pasta and pesto salad, and follow with roasted cod supreme, barbecued cabbage purée, wilted chard and Mrs Owton’s bacon. The wild boar ragu with papardelle, pecorino and truffle oil is a perfectly balanced dish that we couldn’t recommend highly enough.
