Tia Maria brings the fresh flavours of Brazil to London, with a genuinely friendly and fun atmosphere that’s hard to beat. With a menu bursting with Brazilian classics executed with modern twists, there’s something for everyone.
We kicked off with succulent strips of picanha steak and chunky fried cassava chips, paired with a perfect Mojito and CaiPA – the classic Caipirinha topped up with Pale Ale. The generous portions and exciting flavours continued into the main courses, with rich and luscious cassava gnocchi accompanied by rich ratatouille, and a delightfully tender pan-fried monkfish fillet that came with rice so tasty I had to fend off my partner from stealing it from my plate. Don’t skip dessert – the sweet fried milk caramel churros were utterly divine, and the refreshing acai bowl topped with fresh strawberries and banana and granola, to add some crunch, was a super healthy way to finish.
In addition to the restaurant, the separate bar area hosts events almost every night of the week, from Forró dancing to live sertanejo music.
Tia Maria is a truly unique community venue offering authentic food and drinks and a vibrant atmosphere that will leave you with a spring in your step.
