JW Steakhouse at The Marriott delivers effortless style and understated glamour. Popular with hotel guests and city-dwellers alike, this lively steakhouse channels the spirit of the American Deep South with its generous cuts of tender USDA beef, cuts of Aberdeen Angus and impressive range of bourbon whiskey.
Our banquet began with crisp and juicy fried calamari alongside meaty, Maryland-style lump crabcakes, all served with creamy tartare sauce. Our minds were already made up when it came to mains, and we both chose the filet mignon topped with garlic butter and Béarnaise sauce respectively. The Creekstone Kansas Black Angus was smooth, rich and full of flavour. A special mention must go to the sumptuous side dishes, from the creamed spinach and truffle salt fries to the deliciously sautéed wild mushrooms and the extraordinary, marshmallow-topped bourbon sweet potato mash.
Finally, what better way to round off our meal than with a Kentucky coffee – a JW Steakhouse speciality where Maker’s Mark bourbon is sweetened with raw cane sugar, then served piping hot with hand-whipped cream? This was accompanied by a slice of famous JW cheesecake that I wasn’t prepared to share. We both left content and eager to return.
