Bentley’s Oyster Bar & Grill

0.5 miles
11-15 Swallow Street, Mayfair, London, W1B 4DG

Bentley’s Oyster Bar & Grill first opened its doors for business in 1916, in the same beautiful Victorian building it occupies today. From the outset, this famous oyster bar and grill has captured the vibrant mood of a metropolis about to embrace the roaring ’20s. Bentley’s now proudly serves more oysters than any other UK restaurant, and the all-weather al fresco dining terrace is a stylish area in which to dine.

In addition to the Oyster Bar, the Grill Room and the Terrace, Bentley’s also benefits from two beautifully decorated private dining rooms. The sophisticated and intimate Crustacea Room, with select pieces from chef Richard Corrigan’s own art collection, will accommodate up to 14 guests, while the larger Swallow Street Rooms accommodate up to 60 guests for dining, or 100 guests for a standing canapé reception. Boasting a private lounge bar and separate entrance, it provides the ideal space for business lunches, dinners, private celebrations and cocktail parties. If required, entertainment can also be arranged in the form of DJs, pianists, opera singers and magicians. Whether you choose to dine in the gorgeous Champagne and Oyster Bar, located on the ground floor, or the Grill Room, where you’ll find delights such as stuffed baby squid with chorizo and feta, you can be sure that only the freshest produce will arrive at your table. Desserts are every bit as good as you might expect, too – try the fig roll with saffron ice cream or Bentley’s tipsy trifle.

Bentley’s is sheer indulgence. Seafood-lovers take note: this gem of a restaurant is a real treat and not to be missed.
