On a quiet side street in central London, Ora offers a taste of Asia, combined with unparalleled Thai hospitality. Famously known as the 'land of smiles', Thailand is renowned for friendly customer service. Echoing this sentiment, Ora provides the most welcoming of Thai experiences, from the moment you enter the restaurant.

Beginning the evening with cocktails, we browsed an impressive list of both traditional and Thai-inspired drinks. Sampling the divine Bison Forest gave us a taste of Mekhong, one of the most popular golden spirits in Thailand. For starters, we had the expertly arranged platter for two, known as the Spice Merchant, which included a fine array of crispy calamari, chicken satay, prawn tempura, Thai fishcakes and vegetable spring rolls, all complemented by their own delicious, tailored dipping sauces.

Our main courses captured the essence of Thai cuisine, each arriving elegantly made using ingredients sourced fresh and direct from Thailand. I recommend the stir-fried king scallops; the cloudlike, fluffy consistency was incredibly moreish, whilst the stewed duck in creamy red curry with lychees and loin of lamb cooked massaman-style were both sumptuous examples of what real Thai food tastes like.

Visiting during London 2012, we shared our evening with the Thai Olympic team - a true testament to the quality and authenticity of the cuisine and experience that can be expected from Ora.
