Since it opened in April 2001, The Cinnamon Club's ethos has been to revolutionise Indian cooking in the capital - and it's done just that. Executive chef Vivek Singh oversees a brigade of chefs delivering excellent modern Indian cuisine. The restaurant's expert wine consultant, Laurent Chaniac, has compiled a 200-strong wine menu that boasts bins from around the world and rare vintages. The surroundings, too, are something to behold. The Grade II listed Old Westminster Library has been transformed into a high-ceilinged, wood-panelled dining room, complete with booklined gallery. The restaurant also houses a private dining room, mezzanine level and library bar (ideal for more private affairs). The super-chic lounge bar on the lower ground floor is perfect for Indian-inspired cocktails and dancing late into the night.

But Vivek hasn't stopped there. Cinnamon Kitchen opened in 2008, just a briefcase's throw from Liverpool Street, followed by a more casual dining scene at Cinnamon Soho, just off Carnaby Street, which opened in 2012. Rather fittingly housed inside the refurbished East India Company warehouses, Cinnamon Kitchen offers sharpsuited workers an outdoor terrace, the capital's first tandoor bar and grill and a private dining room with a theatrical window into the kitchen. Diners can enjoy the menu's variety by mixing and matching courses. The adjoining bar, Anise, offers spice-infused cocktails and a bar menu of sharing and tasting plates.

Cinnamon Soho sees Vivek loosen his tie even further and opt for something truly laidback. The menu is inspired by Anglo-Indian dishes and features twists on tradition, such as Bangla-Scotch egg, while the cocktail list is an after-work-crowd favourite.

All three restaurants offer a host of seasonal and festival menus, including game, Diwali and even floral menus for National Vegetarian Week. Always keeping things fresh and interesting, it's hardly surprising that Cinnamon has become a byword for excellence amongst London's most discerning diners.
