London Steakhouse Co. Chelsea
Chelsea’s bustling King’s Road is home to a uniquely vibrant and diverse food and drink scene. The buzzing atmosphere of the modest yet impeccably elegant London Steakhouse Co. is very much part of that scene and is complemented by the area’s stylish vibe. As the name suggests, award-winning London Steakhouse Co. specialises in exceptional steaks as well as a variety of timeless English plates. All dishes are created on-site and showcase the best fresh, quality ingredients. The team sources only the finest grass-fed meat from Royal Warrant holders Aubrey Allen, and there are a range of sizes and cuts to choose from including rump, fillet and rib-eye.
If you can’t make your mind up, opt for the set menu. Diners can sample the hors d’oeuvres before moving onto mains, which features dishes such as roasted salmon fillet and 8oz rump steak. For dessert, the chocolate and chestnut truffle cake and pecan pie will go down a treat.
We chose from the à la carte menu and commenced our meal with light, delicious and beautifully presented starters of beetroot and goat’s cheese salad paired perfectly with walnut mousse, and a crab salad with red apple, mint and lime. My prime rump of beef Wellington with mushroom duxelle certainly didn’t disappoint and achieved all the depth and richness one expects from this classic dish while boasting sophisticated flavours. My partner’s Scottish lobster was fragrant, meaty and melt-in-the-mouth and the side of crispy potato croquettes proved that everything tastes better when cooked in truffle oil. A large glass of robust, plummy Argentine malbec provided the perfect accompaniment to our feast.
Our lunch was rounded off with a zingy vanilla cheesecake topped with summer fruits, an indulgent sticky toffee pudding and a delicious Italian classico liqueur coffee. All in all, London Steakhouse Co. was a wonderful dining experience, enhanced by accommodating staff and outstanding service. In fact, you’d be hard-pressed to find a better steak restaurant in the capital.
The mezzanine levels’ soft leather banquettes and handmade mirrors offer a soothing backdrop to private parties of up to 22 and the whole restaurant can be hired if you’re looking for something more exclusive.
