25 Winchester Road, Swiss Cottage, North West London, NW3 3NR
Having resided in the small district of Swiss Cottage in Camden for an impressive 17 years, Bradley's restaurant continues to draw in diners from near and far. Owners Simon and Jolanta Bradley both trained at the illustrious InterContinental Hotel on Park Lane, so you can be assured that you are in capable hands. Bradley's interior is modern, yet warm and elegant - a sentiment that is duly reflected in the food. With delicious cuisine, gracious staff and a tranquil atmosphere, a visit to this fine restaurant is a must for the discerning diner. The food has a significant French accent, but there is also a quintessential Britishness that stems from seasonal ingredients sourced from all over the British Isles. The fish is delivered daily from Looe in Cornwall; the lamb and beef originates from the Orkney Islands; oysters come direct from Ireland and there is an excellent array of game on offer. Enjoy such starters as Dorset crab, watercress and mango salad with brown crab pannacotta, or a rich game and foie gras terrine with Cumberland sauce. A typical main course could be a halibut fillet with creamed leeks, mushroom duxelle and salsify, or for noncarnivores, a twice-baked broccoli souffléwith chicory gratin and stuffed mushrooms. Follow this with one of the mouth-watering desserts on offer; a traditional tarte tatin with vanilla ice cream would go down a treat. All the dishes are simple, light and have that classic French feel, as well as the refreshingly modern twist that makes Bradley's truly unique. Alongside the à la carte and set menus, Bradley's offers a superb Sunday lunch. The restaurant is within walking distance of Hampstead Theatre and a meal here would be an excellent way to start or finish an evening. Last year Bradley's gained recognition in the Michelin Guide, being awarded the 'Bib Gourmand' rating which recognises high-quality food and service at excellent value. Visit Bradley's tonight, and you too will be singing its praises.
