51 Southsea Terrace, Southsea, Portsmouth, PO5 3AU
Situated on Southsea seafront, The White Horse offers delicious homemade cuisine at reasonable prices. Refurbished in May 2005, it is now a stylish pub and restaurant.

Impressive front windows and a large conservatory area not only offer a splendid view of Southsea Common and the Solent beyond, but also ensure the modern interior is well lit. Throughout the establishment are reminders of local maritime history, and the large outdoor seating area is hugely popular, especially during busy summer months.

The White Horse specialises in traditional pub food with some interesting surprises. The menu is changed at the start of every season, so whether it's a summer salad in June or a hearty pie in November, you will always find something to suit you. The current menu includes 'small plates' like boxed French Camembert baked with toasted ciabatta. Main course delights include 'big plates' such as classic sausage and mash with a rich onion gravy, and the aromatic Thai spiced cous cous-stuffed pepper with salad and sweet chilli sauce. An appealing selection of sandwiches and pies, including London Pride, steak and mushroom, means that whether it is lunch on the move or a leisurely evening of eating and drinking, The White Horse is sure to impress.

Regular quiz nights and charity fundraising events are often held at this family establishment.
