Lou Lou's is a typical French brasserie in the middle of Southsea in Portsmouth. Recently refurbished, it serves cuisine that ranges from classic French food, made using French produce directly imported from the gastronomic capital for authenticity, right through to famous English breakfasts that are made with ingredients sourced closer to home.

The range of wines is also specially selected from France, and is carefully chosen to represent the best quality for diners back on home soil. The menus and wine list are regularly changed to ensure variety, so there's usually something new to try for repeat visitors. But there are plenty of classic French dishes which have become synonymous with Lou Lou's. What would a French restaurant be without the option to dine on authentically cooked escargot and frog's legs? Both always feature on the starters menu and if you've never tried them before, I highly recommend ordering them here. A dish of escargot in a dreamy garlic butter served at Lou Lou's is as fine as you'll find in any restaurant on the Continent. French chicken casserole and Buckwell's rib-eye steak are popular main choices and the likes of chocolate and banana pancakes and lemon crepes keep sweet-toothed diners coming back time and again.

A variety of exciting cocktails are on offer too and if you love your gin, you'll love it here - they have at least 22 different gins to choose from. If you are celebrating, or just fancy spoiling yourself, the selection of sparkling wines and Champagne is sure to catch your eye.

Everyone in the team prides themselves on being really friendly, and everyone also has an established background in catering, so they'll be more than happy to help with any special requests. For great food at very reasonable prices and open seven days a week, check out Lou Lou's French brasserie
