The Lansdowne Pub & Dining Room

90 Gloucester Avenue, Primrose Hill, London, NW1 8HX

This attractive pub, which sports an inviting atmosphere and rustic-inspired interior, is located along a residential street in pretty Primrose Hill. Indoors, the wooden furniture and spacious seating area calls for lazy afternoons spent sipping wine and working your way through the menu. There’s a first-floor function room available to hire for private parties and dining, too.

The home-cooked dishes are inspired by British and Mediterranean cuisine and are worth delving into. The freshly made pizzas are great for sharing with a bottle of wine from the extensive choice showcased on chalkboards. Most of the bottles are available by the glass should you wish to take it steady.

The hot oak-smoked salmon with shaved fennel and orange, and aubergine, pumpkin seed pesto and mozzarella rolls are sure to get things off to a cracking start. Main dishes of roast mushroom, onion and pepper burger, and 250g aged rib-eye steak with confit tomato, mushroom and chips are highlights that prove this pub is a cut above the rest. Sweets, meanwhile, come in the form of crumbed poached pear with toasted oat crumb, pear gel and caramel ice cream, and a classic dark chocolate brownie.
