Londoners and tourists have been enjoying Belgo's unique brand of Belgian hospitality since the first branch opened on Chalk Farm Road in 1992. Further restaurants have popped up in Covent Garden, Holborn and Bromley, all of which are just as well-loved as the original. Offering the best in Belgian food, beer and hospitality, these four establishments are made for fun evenings out after a day of work or play.

The impressive 12,000-square-foot Belgo Centraal restaurant in Covent Garden is split into two eating halls - a 450-seat informal beer hall and a laid-back restaurant. A short walk from Holborn station, in Covent Garden, and you'll come across another Belgo, this time housed in a building once home to Lloyds Bank - in fact, the safe has been put to good use as a beer cellar. The first Belgo in Chalk Farm has something of a dual personality; the original part of the restaurant is modelled on a traditional European drinking hall, while the extension is decidedly modern. Bromley's Belgo is the newest addition to the family and is situated in the Intu Bromley Shopping Centre. Whichever branch you visit, you'll find some of the best mussels and beers in the capital: Belgo's specialities. In fact, Belgo serves over 2.5 tonnes of fresh mussels a week. They can be ordered as a kilo pot, platter or bowl, accompanied by a number of exciting sauces. Wash yours down with one of the 50 craft Belgian beers available. Tasty rotisserie chicken dishes are also Belgo's forte. Half a spit-roasted chicken, basted in a secret blend of spices and served with frites, can be ordered with your choice of sauce. The rest of the menu features Belgian classics and British favourites with a twist, demonstrating an originality that has kept diners coming back for over 20 years.

If you're looking for a bargain dining experience then Belgo is, yet again, a winner. With special deals such as 'beat the clock' (where you pay the price of the time shown on your food order) and an express lunch set menu offered, there is no excuse not to make Belgo your dining destination when visiting the city. With ales heady enough to satisfy any beer lover, and food that remains true to its European roots, Belgo is a revelation. Search the whole of London and you'll be hard-pressed to find a restaurant serving Belgian food to this standard.
