This authentic Greek restaurant is perfectly situated to feed hungry tourists and passersby taking in Bloomsbury’s leafy, attraction-filled area. Despite the venue’s spacious size, there’s a real intimacy and vibrant atmosphere to be found at Yialousa, thanks to the jolly staff who were attentive, smiling throughout our visit.
If you’re after an entertaining evening, as we were, find a table, enjoy the jovial surroundings and peruse the enticing menu – you’re in for a feast to remember. Tables were already full as we pondered over the extensive menu, which is bursting with seafood, grilled meats, salads and sides – all are generous in portion size. Before we reached the main event, we enjoyed a hearty meze of taramasalata, pitta bread, crisp whitebait and succulent scampi with crisp salad. Next up, we polished off the slow-cooked, mouth-watering lamb kleftiko and a generous, colourful mixed grill. A bottle of Greek house red wine complemented our feast perfectly and didn’t disappoint.
Leave room for dessert, as the caramel cheesecake was a sweet-tooth slayer that went well with a delicious coffee. We sipped a complimentary shot of ouzo before we left with huge smiles and fantastic memories of our dining experience at Yialousa.
