Homage & Good Godfrey's
Lavish furnishings, polished service and a refined yet relaxed atmosphere await visitors at this iconic venue. The Waldorf Hilton is one of the capital’s most prestigious hotels, so expect nothing less than elegance, style and sophistication at every turn. Housed within the hotel, the Homage restaurant and Good Godfrey’s bar and lounge are both first-class, offering two very different yet equally fabulous dining experiences.
Set in an enviable location in London’s West End, nestled between the Novello and Aldwych theatres, The Waldorf Hilton was originally designed as a combined theatre, hotel and shops. With this in mind, it’s hard to imagine a better setting in which to enjoy a pre-theatre dinner than the beautifully elegant Homage restaurant, where two courses are £23 and three are £25. If you’re catching a show, the thought of a pre-theatre afternoon tea might entice you, too. As the hotel is part of the Tea Council’s celebrated Tea Guild, your cup will be fi lled with their own top-quality Waldorf Tribute or The Waldorf Luxury White blend. What’s more, the classical sound of the resident harpist will be playing in the background.
Glorious ionic columns and shimmering chandeliers add to the charm of Homage. This superb, versatile space is just as suited to special occasion celebrations as it is to intimate dinners. Everything from breakfast through to afternoon tea and threecourse à la carte suppers is prepared to perfection. Menus change with the seasons, but exquisite signature dishes include seared line-caught sea bass, poached halibut, slow-braised belly of pork, duck confi t and, quite appropriately, The Waldorf Salad. A unique twist on the modern European brasserie, Homage boasts a partnership with Buccleuch Estate Beef, whose succulent hand-cut steaks lead the grill selection.
Taking its name from The Waldorf’s very own house band, Good Godfrey’s is an opulent cocktail bar and lounge that oozes 1920s glamour. Delicious breakfasts and light meals are available during the day, but this place really comes alive in the evening. When the sun goes down, mixologists take centre stage with their tempting array of cocktails; the Perfect Host, comprising Bacardi Superior, fresh lime juice, apple juice, gomme syrup, egg white, celery and basil, is one of the most popular, and Godfrey’s Cobbler is another of the bold signature cocktails. If you’d like to learn some of the tricks of the trade, indulge in a cocktail masterclass, followed by an exquisite two-course meal in the restaurant.
