Have you ever dined alfresco on the Continent, enjoying a warm, slow breeze and truly felt relaxed? Lujon is the French word for that breeze and at Lujon in Keston you'll experience warm, Continental hospitality that will take you far away from the everyday. Chic and uniquely quirky, Lujon's design definitely complements the exquisite culinary magic courtesy of Alan Irwin. A finalist in the Roux and Ramsay scholarship, Alan learned most of his expertise at a highly regarded Michelin-starred restaurant, before going on to become head chef at The Mulberry Tree. There, he won 'Best Restaurant of the Year' two years running, along with numerous other accolades.

Perhaps begin your experience with a pressed terrine of red-leg partridge, caramelised apple, foie gras and celeriac. Then, accompanied by a refreshing glass of French Chablis Helene Perrot Burgundy, let your tastebuds run wild with a slow-roasted belly of Middle White pork and poached cheek with spring greens and apple jus. If it's just a light bite you're after, Lujon offers a brasserie-style Market Menu, which runs alongside the à la carte, perfect for lunch or light supper, with dishes such as corn-fed chicken and button mushroom pie, battered South Coast cod with twice-cooked chips and an assortment of exquisite salads. Clearly, Alan is an incredibly versatile chef.

Do leave room for dessert. With intriguing combinations such as dark chocolate tart with parsnip ice cream, and Jerusalem artichoke cheesecake, through to traditional Granny Smith crumble with milk custard, these are not dishes to be passed over. A children's menu is also available.
