Bill’s – Welwyn
Central to Welwyn’s major stores, Bill’s is ideally located to refuel your weary legs after an afternoon of shopping. Unique decoration affords this spacious eatery a rustic feel, with separate menus for breakfast, lunch and dinner ensuring that each part of the day has its own distinctive ambience. You can expect an eclectic mix of good old classics and their take on modern British cuisine, so everyone in your party is sure to find something to tempt.
To start, we chose mushroom soup and crispy calamari. The soup was excellent; piping hot with large chunks of wild mushroom, accompanied by crispy flatbread. For my main I chose a naked burger, served without the bun, accompanied by a tasty salad. My partner had a flat-iron steak. Both the burger and steak were cooked exactly as requested. I finished with a blissful lemon meringue Eton Mess. My partner chose plum and apple crumble with sumptuous salted caramel ice cream. Portion sizes were generous and the service was exemplary, being prompt and attentive yet unobtrusive. Bill’s has an extensive drinks menu with options ranging from Champagne to super greens smoothies. I opted for a virgin cocktail – a watermelon and raspberry concoction that was refreshing and utterly divine.
You can also take a little bit of Bill’s home with you with jams, chutneys and olive oil all available to purchase. What more could you ask for?
