The village of Lemsford is home to The Sun Inn, a lovely traditional pub dating back to the 18th century. The interior boasts traditional features like exposed beams and a large open fireplace which is particularly inviting during colder months. The elegant dining room combines these rustic features with modern touches such as comfy leather chairs and a stylish colour palette, creating a wonderful environment in which to dine. Friendly staff cater to your every need, and the family-friendly atmosphere makes The Sun a great place for the whole brood – including your canine companion.
On our visit we started with sumptuous bowls of warm, comforting soup. The wonderful aromas hit the palate before I’d sampled my first spoonful, and the subsequent flavours didn’t disappoint. My partner and I both followed with a delicious roast dinner, deciding that nothing else could suffice on a cold winter Sunday. My roasted sirloin of dryaged British beef was a triumph; the meat melted in the mouth, and the accompaniments were fantastic – particularly the honey-roasted parsnips. My partner was equally impressed with his succulent Suffolk chicken roasted in thyme. As we left we were already planning our next visit to get our fix of delicious food in a cosy, relaxed setting.
