Chinese and East Asian
As someone who barely knows my chopsticks from my chop suey, my visit was a lesson in what a good Cantonese meal should taste like. The friendly staff guided me through the vast menu, and suggested that I should try the fresh choi sum (Chinese greens) that had arrived that day. Everything on the menu is prepared fresh to order, so we were able to order our salt and pepper mushroom appetiser with chilli on the side as hot or mild as we preferred. I can't decide which of the other dishes we tried was our favourite - the soup brimming with seafood, the juicy beef curry, the crunchy vegetables or the fragrant rice. Other dishes that caught my attention included the Cantonese-style sweet and sour prawns, as well as the fried beef in a spicy satay sauce. The restaurant also provides a Jade Garden special combination, which lets you customise and select individual courses.
Don't let the plush interior deceive you; Jade Garden is superb value for money. Kim also caters for large parties of ten to 40 people and offers a takeaway service with a ten per cent discount - tempted'
