Tea at Tapps is an independent tearoom situated within Tapps Garden Centre, a family-run business on the outskirts of Baldock. The tearoom boasts lovely rural views of the Chilterns and a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere. The team places emphasis on offering quality homemade food, all cooked on the premises. Visitors can choose from a range of 15 top-quality loose-leaf teas and award-winning coffee. For a light lunch, stop in for freshly prepared sandwiches, homemade quiche, soup or jacket potatoes. Popular options include the Ploughman’s and the Gardener’s lunch. Cream teas with homemade scones are always available, and when you book 48 hours in advance, you can indulge in afternoon tea, complete with beautifully presented homemade cakes. Gluten-free options are also available, so nobody has to miss out. The staff make everybody welcome, including four-legged friends and walkers sporting muddy boots.
