The Queens Head
The Queen’s Head is a perfect example of the traditional village pub. Situated in the village of Tolleshunt D’Arcy, The Queen’s Head offers top-notch traditional fare in a lovely setting. The pub boasts a beer garden with an epic children’s playground, and a bouncy castle in summer months. The separate snug area is perfect for quiet drinks. The snug was featured in CAMRA’S Inventory for Historic Pub Interiors , and has hardly changed in 100 years – if you’re looking for an authentically historic pub experience, The Queen’s Head is a great shout.
The menu is just as traditional, with hearty main courses like lamb’s liver and bacon with onion gravy, and the ever-popular signature homemade steak and ale pie, topped with a perfect puff pastry lid. The homemade goat’s cheese and onion tart is an ideal alternative to the meat-based mains, and The Queen’s Head kitchen team also offers lighter bites. Choose from a range of sandwiches and jacket potatoes laden with tasty fillings, and on Sunday don’t miss the roast. You’ll find a choice of freshly roasted meat accompanied by all the classic trimmings. Push the boat out and upgrade your roast with tasty extras like caulifl ower cheese and leek and bacon – you won’t regret it. Desserts change regularly but are always served with custard, cream or ice cream – keep an eye on the dessert board to find out what’s on offer when you visit.
