Le Bouchon Brasserie & Hotel
Le Bouchon Brasserie & Hotel in Heybridge opened its doors in September 2012, and has since become a popular fine dining destination with people from all over the South East. The 300-year-old Georgian building took two years to restore and now comprises 14 French boutique-style bedrooms – some of which include luxurious four-poster beds – and three separate dining areas, including a Georgian dining room, a light and airy orangery and the main restaurant. On the regularly changing à la carte menu, expect to find exquisite dishes like escargots in herb and shallot butter, 30-day-aged tender fillet steak, and a choice of fabulous fish dishes. The signature triple-cooked chips are certainly not to be missed, and for dessert, the dark chocolate and orange brownie is simply divine. If you dine between 5.30pm and 6.30pm, you’ll receive 20 per cent off your food bill from Monday to Saturday.
Le Bouchon boasts a large, separate cocktail bar which offers a choice of over 60 cocktails. In season, boat trips take place from Le Bouchon’s private mooring – it’s the perfect post-lunch excursion. The hotel also offers stay and dine packages that comprise an overnight stay with cream tea on arrival, followed by an evening meal, a glass of Champagne, and breakfast the following morning.
Le Bouchon caters for private functions and special occasions. The dedicated staff and six Michelin-trained chefs make this the place to visit, so make sure you book your table.
