The Queens Head in Harlow has idyllic, quintessentially English charm which immediately draws the eye. With its flagpole outside proudly displaying St George’s Cross, and housed in a building believed to date back to the 16th century, this is truly a traditional pub. The fare sticks to tradition too, although there are a few internationally inspired elements to mix things up. Classics such as sausage and mash, fish and chips, and steak and red wine pie will please the traditionalists in your party, but the likes of chickpea, cumin and spinach curry, and salmon sashimi with pickled ginger, soy sauce and wasabi make for an interesting alternative. A highly recommended Sunday roast draws locals in droves at the end of a busy week, and the addition of private venue hire means that you can celebrate any occasion at The Queens Head.
